September 1, 2026 – (Balboa Peninsula Point Patrol Assignment)

1:43 AM Carlos Mejia – 01:00–01:45 Resumed security patrol and conducted a thorough check of the assigned beach and surrounding areas. Checked the beaches, parks, alleyways, tennis courts, beach access points, walkways, parking areas, and surrounding public areas to ensure they remained clear and secure. Conducted visual inspections of the beach areas and checked for any individuals remaining after hours,

suspicious behavior, loitering, or unauthorized activity. Inspected the tennis courts and surrounding park areas, which were all clear with no suspicious activity encountered. Monitored traffic flow throughout the area, which was observed to be slow, and maintained awareness of vehicles and pedestrians entering and exiting the surrounding streets. Checked alleyways and less-visible areas for any unusual activity or safety

All areas checked were clear and orderly, and no suspicious activity was encountered during this patrol period.

1:43 AM Carlos Mejia – During the patrol, experienced another issue with the phone connection while attempting to take and upload photographs documenting the areas previously checked. The connection issue affected the ability to properly capture and/or upload the patrol photographs. Continued performing the required patrol duties despite the technical issue and maintained a visible security presence throughout the area.

2:28 AM Carlos Mejia – 01:47–02:50 Conducted a new round of security patrols throughout the assigned area. Checked the beaches, parks, lifeguard stands, tennis courts, alleyways, beach access points, walkways, and surrounding parking areas. Continued monitoring the beach following the after-hours closure and checked for any individuals attempting to remain in the area. Conducted multiple vehicle patrols while watching traffic flow and monitoring the surrounding streets for any unusual activity. Checked the tennis courts and parks and  confirmed the areas were clear and orderly. Inspected alleyways and less visible areas to ensure there were no individuals loitering or engaging in suspicious activity. During the patrol, the security phone continued experiencing repeated connection issues. Photographs taken during the patrol were not consistently appearing or saving in the application, creating difficulty with documenting the completed area checks. Continued performing all required patrol duties despite the technical issues and maintained a visible security presence throughout the assigned area. Remained alert to vehicles, pedestrians, and potential safety concerns. No suspicious activity, disturbances, or unauthorized activity was encountered, and all areas checked remained clear and secure.

3:12 AM Carlos Mejia – 02:35–03:30 Continued overnight security patrols throughout the assigned beach area and surrounding public spaces. At approximately 02:35, encountered individuals remaining on the beach after hours and advised them that the beach was closed and that they needed to leave the area. The individuals complied with instructions and cleared the beach without further incident. Continued patrolling the beach to confirm the area remained clear after the individuals departed. Conducted thorough checks of all accessible alleyways, looking for loitering, unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, or any safety concerns. Continued checking the parks, beach access points, lifeguard stands, walkways, and surrounding areas to ensure they remained clear and secure. Checked all tennis courts and confirmed they were clear with no

suspicious activity encountered. Monitored traffic flow throughout the area, which was very low during this time, while remaining alert to the limited vehicle and pedestrian activity. Conducted multiple vehicle patrols through the assigned area and maintained a highly visible security presence to deter after-hours activity and unauthorized access. Continued monitoring the surroundings and remained alert for disturbances, vandalism, property damage, or other unusual activity. Maintained professional awareness throughout the final portion of the shift and continued checking various areas rather than remaining stationary. All checked areas remained orderly and secure, with no additional suspicious activity or security concerns encountered prior to the conclusion of the

shift at 03:30.

3:12 AM Carlos Mejia – 03:30 Completed final patrol and concluded the assigned security shift. Confirmed the previously checked beaches, parks, lifeguard stands, tennis courts, alleyways, and surrounding access points remained clear and secure. Maintained a visible security presence through the conclusion of the shift and completed final observations of the area. No additional suspicious activity, disturbances, or security concerns were encountered at the end of shift.
