PATROL REPORT – January 4, 2024

January 4, 2024 – (Balboa Peninsula Point Patrol Assignment)

7:00pm On duty Security Officer Llamas began  patrol of  Balboa Peninsula  assessing the community for nefarious characters with no issues of concern discerned during the first hour of patrol. Noticed a few youths walking towards the beach from  Jetty park access with a 12 pack of  alcoholic beverages. Individuals  informed that no alcohol allowed on beach, parks or anywhere while visiting the community.  One male and female agreed to place beverages in their vehicle. Security confirmed they walked back to their vehicle and open their trunk placing forbidden items inside before walking to join their group. Otherwise 1st hr unremarkable. Continued patrol throughout streets and alley ways areas secure

8:00pm.  Patrol unremarkable during this hour no changes in status. Site secure along beach access points and construction projects within the community. Courtesy notice given to Pier fisherman of Pier closure time. Construction site on Oceanfront appears open.  Area assessed no loitering individuals discerned on site. Reposition wooden broad to close off entrance point. Site  secure 

9:00pm  Garage door open were addressed by providing friendly reminders to close garage door No signs of loitering vagrants coming from any construction site residents. No signs of vandalism or nefarious characters observed 

10:50pm Cleared  Jetty park, pier and access points leading to beach requiring posting up by park as visitors keep seeking to access beach from this point. Friendly reminder of posted closure signs referenced. Beach walk through was uneventful 

11:00pm   . Patrol vehicle parked at beach entrance with security spotlight used to draw attention to security presence as deterrent for new comers attempting to gain access  before walking Beach area informing visitors of Beach closure

Encountering lots of visitors walking towards Jetty Park seeking Beach access. Reference to posted signs with hours of closure used several times.  Posted at this location to deter after hour visitors.

12:00am Noise coming from pier investigate area and found several couples which were removed without incident Continue to deter beach access from this location until volume of visitors diminished. Site remains secure no access to beach allowed.

1:00 am Patrol of surrounding community did not reveal individuals sleeping in cars or open garage doors, excessive noise or activity coming from residents homes.. Site remains free of vandalism excessive noise or disturbance by individuals seeking to continue social activities within the property grounds. 

2:00am Patrol vehicle lights and spotlight used as deterrent with no combative or aggressive individuals encountered. Site remains secure. Seems young people coming at this hour may have been drinking, yet all individuals encountered complied as directed . Performed patrol of surrounding community which did not reveal individuals sleeping in cars or open garage doors

3:00am. Final perimeter check of Beach access points were clear with no individuals encountered nor any vehicle with sleeping individuals discerned within the community. No garage doors discovered open or any signs of transients loitering within the community. Jetty Park entrance encountered three females requiring warning police would be contacted if group did not depart. Otherwise no other people except few fisherman observed.  Site remains
