PATROL REPORT – February 23, 2024

February 23, 2024 – (Balboa Peninsula Point Patrol Assignment)

7:00pm  On duty patrol entering Balboa  Peninsula driving towards Jetty park which  is peaceful with several visitors present..  No garage doors open during first pass. Patrol vehicle stopped for perimeter check of Beach access point by L street. No visible signs of transients or individuals loitering in vehicles or unregistered vehicles parked on the street.   Continuing down E Oceanfront Blvd assessing vehicles Park near beach access points by G street ,I street M street up to Jetty Park followed by  traveling down alleys looking for open garage doors or excessive trash out of place. Continue patrol of streets stopping to check Construction site homes assessed for signs of intruders no issues of concern. Continue patrol throughout streets and alley ways areas secure.

8:00pm No changes in status site remains peaceful no nuisances encountered.

9:15pm. Oceanfront Blvd  no signs of nefarious individuals no signs of trash or illegal dumping  access points open, site secure

9:45pm Club house not occupied currently  provided friendly reminder to fishing personal on pier about closure time approaching with continue fishing on the Jetty.  No nefarious activity individual departing  without any issues of concern.

10:40pm Jetty Park closed life guards stations occupied with few youths . Friendly groups departing without incident. Access points M street I Street and G street access only encounter two couples which packed up and departed No trash left behind no issues of concern. Returned to Jetty Park to clear 2nd group of late visitors

11:15pm .  Parked at beach entrance with security spotlight used to draw attention to security presence as notice older model vehicles approaching which turn down Ocean Blvd without stopping. Few residents walking their pets.  G street late beach visitors encountered and informed site is close which prompted departures without incident Friendly hours of availability information provided

12:15am.   Observe movement by Lifeguard station closest to Jetty check visitors removed without incident informed of closure Walked towards M street lifeguard station with all visitors complying with directives. Afterwards moved patrol vehicle towards G. Street as deterrent while clearing the distal end of the beach stopping at each. Access point.

1:05am Site remains secure no changes in status

2:00am. Continue to deter beach access  Security remaining vigilant area secure

3:00am. Final perimeter check revealed no individuals loitering or  sleeping in vehicles  No garage doors discovered open or any signs of transients loitering along Beach access point. Jetty Park clear, pier clear site secure.
