12:17 AM Carlos Mejia – 2330–0030 – Continued proactive security patrols throughout the assigned area. Checked the tennis courts, multiple alleyways, parks, beaches, beach access points, and surrounding common areas for suspicious activity, unauthorized persons, disturbances, or safety concerns. Maintained a visible and professional security presence while monitoring pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout the community. Conducted additional checks of the beach areas following the
2200 closure and made contact with residents who were still present on the beach after hours. Residents were professionally advised that the beach was closed and were asked to leave the area. Individuals complied with instructions and were successfully removed from the beach without incident.
Continued monitoring the surrounding parks, tennis areas, alleyways, and
residential areas while maintaining awareness of traffic flow and pedestrian activity. Conducted repeated visual checks of access points and restricted areas to deter unauthorized entry and maintain order. Spoke with several residents during patrol and maintained a courteous and professional demeanor while providing a consistent security presence. No suspicious activity, significant disturbances, vandalism, or safety hazards were encountered during this patrol period. All areas checked were found to be clear, orderly, and secure. Continued routine patrol operations throughout the community.
12:31 AM Carlos Mejia – 0030 – Going on scheduled lunch break. Prior to break, completed routine security checks of the assigned patrol areas. Beaches, parks, alleyways, tennis courts, and surrounding common areas were checked and found clear. No suspicious activity or significant disturbances were encountered. Security operations will resume upon completion of break.
1:26 AM Carlos Mejia – 0107- 0130 – Conducted proactive security patrol at Bay Beach and surrounding areas. Observed multiple individuals fishing in the area after hours and made contact with the individuals. Advised them that the area was closed and requested that they leave. The individuals complied and were successfully removed from the area without further incident. During the same patrol, observed a black Toyota Camry parked in a redzone area adjacent to Bay Beach. Made contact with a couple inside the vehicle who were engaged in inappropriate activity. The individuals were advised that they could not remain in the area and were requested to leave. They complied and vacated the area without incident. Continued checking the surrounding beach, access points, alleyways, and nearby common areas for additional after-hours activity. Maintained a professional and highly visible security presence while monitoring the area for suspicious activity, disturbances, and safety concerns. No further
suspicious activity was encountered, and the area was left clear and orderly.
2:23 AM Carlos Mejia – 0205 During the patrol, assisted an individual in locating a handbag that had been accidentally left near a lifeguard stand at the beach. While assisting with the search, the individual advised that the person she had arrived with had left the area and that her vehicle keys and house keys had been left inside his vehicle. Assisted in locating and recovering the individual’s belongings while maintaining awareness of the surrounding area.
2030 Continued patrols of the beach, alleyways, parks, access points, and surrounding areas while monitoring for suspicious activity, disturbances, or unauthorized persons. The beach area was checked thoroughly and found clear, with no additional suspicious activity encountered. Continued maintaining a visible and professional security presence throughout the community. All areas checked remained orderly and secure.
2:32 AM Carlos Mejia – 0208 – Continued proactive security patrols at West Jetty Park and the surrounding beach area. Encountered multiple individuals remaining in the park/beach area after hours and made contact with them. Individuals were advised that the area was closed and were instructed to leave. The individuals complied and were successfully removed from the area.
During enforcement of the after-hours closure, several individuals became involved in a verbal argument regarding the situation. Maintained a professional security presence, monitored the interaction, and ensured the situation did not escalate further. The individuals ultimately left the area without further incident.
During the patrol, assisted an individual in locating a handbag that had been accidentally left near a lifeguard stand at the beach. While searching for the handbag, the individual advised that the person she had arrived with had left her at the area of E Oceanfront and M Street. She further stated that her vehicle keys and house keys had been left inside the other individual’s vehicle. The individual advised that she intended to make a police report regarding the circumstances. Security personnel assisted with the search for her belongings while maintaining awareness of the surrounding area.

0235 – Individual advised security personnel that she intended to make a police report regarding the circumstances involving her belongings and the individual who had left the area. Security personnel remained on.scene and continued providing assistance while waiting for police to arrive. Maintained a professional security presence and monitored the surrounding area for any additional disturbances or suspicious activity. Area remained calm and orderly while awaiting police arrival.
3:18 AM Carlos Mejia – 0250–0330 – Resumed routine patrol operations after the earlier situation was resolved. Newport Beach Police Department personnel arrived and handled the situation. Security personnel remained professional and cooperative throughout the incident and were thanked by responding officers for the assistance provided.
Following the resolution of the incident, resumed proactive patrols throughout the assigned community. Conducted thorough checks of multiple alleyways, beaches, parks, tennis courts, beach access points, lifeguard stands, common areas, and surrounding residential areas. No additional suspicious activity, disturbances, vandalism, or safety hazards were observed. All checked areas were left clear, orderly, and secure. Maintained a professional security presence throughout the shift and completed patrol operations without further incident.
3:18 AM Carlos Mejia – 0320 – While conducting the final patrol of Bay Beach, encountered an individual fishing in the area after hours. Made contact with the individual and advised them that the area was closed. The individual complied with instructions and was successfully removed from the area without further incident. Continued monitoring Bay Beach and surrounding access points to ensure the area remained clear and secure.
7:54 PM Carlos Mejia – 1900 Hours: Began shift and conducted routine security patrol throughout the assigned property and surrounding areas. Checked designated alleyways, tennis courts, beaches, parks, common areas, and access points. Monitored traffic flow and observed vehicle and pedestrian activity throughout the patrol area. Maintained a highly visible and professional security presence while conducting proactive patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify any potential safety or security concerns.
1900-2000 – During patrol, made contact with several residents and visitors, providing professional greetings and maintaining positive communication with the community. Spoke briefly with residents to ensure there were no immediate concerns or issues requiring security attention. Continued monitoring the surrounding areas, including parks, beach areas, walkways, and other locations with regular pedestrian activity. All areas checked were found to be in normal condition, with no suspicious activity, disturbances, vandalism, or safety hazards encountered at the time of patrol. Conducted visual checks of common areas and locations with increased public activity to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential safety concerns. Alleyways, parks, and tennis court areas were checked and found to be in normal condition. No suspicious activity, disturbances, vandalism, or safety hazards were observed during this patrol period.

9:55 PM Carlos Mejia – 2100 –2200 Hours: Continued active security patrol throughout West Jetty Park, Bay Beach, and the surrounding community. Conducted repeated checks of beach areas, beach access points, walkways, alleyways, parks, common areas, and other locations throughout the assigned patrol area. Continued monitoring pedestrian and vehicle activity while maintaining a visible and professional security presence.
Continued Informing beachgoers and individuals fishing that the beach and fishing areas were scheduled to close at 2200 hours, providing verbal reminders and supervising the area to encourage compliance with closing hours. Monitored access points and surrounding areas for unauthorized activity and ensured areas were being cleared as closing time approached. Conducted additional checks of parks, alleyways, and community areas to maintain security and deter potential after-hours activity. Traffic and pedestrian activity remained at normal levels. No suspicious activity, disturbances, vandalism, or safety hazards were encountered

9:55 PM Carlos Mejia – At the Tennis Courts Conducted a security check of all designated tennis courts. The courts and surrounding areas were found to be clear and in normal condition. No suspicious activity, disturbances, unauthorized activity, or safety concerns were encountered. Continued monitoring the area while maintaining a visible security presence.
11:12 PM Carlos Mejia – 2200–2310 : Continued active security patrol throughout the beaches, surrounding neighborhoods, alleyways, parks, beach access points, and other common areas. Conducted multiple patrol checks and maintained a visible security presence throughout the community. Made multiple contacts with residents, beachgoers, and individuals in the area, maintaining professional and courteous communication while informing them that the beach and fishing areas
were closed after
2200 hours. Politely instructed individuals to leave the closed areas and continued supervising the beach and fishing locations to ensure compliance with posted closing hours. During this period, multiple individuals were encountered in the beach and fishing areas after closing time. Continued proactive enforcement of the after-hours closure by making verbal notifications and assisting with clearing the affected areas. Monitored surrounding neighborhoods, parks, alleyways, and access points for any additional unauthorized activity or suspicious behavior while continuing to secure the community. No other significant disturbances or safety concerns were encountered during routine patrol operations.
Report Documentation: Photos documenting activity and individuals contacted were uploaded to the reporting application; however, while preparing to complete the DAR, the application froze and became unresponsive, requiring the application to be closed. Continued documenting the shift as accurately as possible after the application was restarted.
11:40 PM Carlos Mejia – 2310–2345 Hours: Continued routine security patrol throughout the assigned community. Conducted checks of alleyways, beaches, parks, beach access points, common areas, and surrounding neighborhoods. Monitored traffic flow and observed vehicle and pedestrian activity throughout the area while maintaining a visible and professional security presence. Conducted additional checks of areas previously cleared to ensure conditions remained secure and to deter unauthorized after-hours activity. Continued monitoring beach areas and access points following the
2200- hour closure, checking for any individuals remaining in restricted areas and providing professional verbal notifications when necessary. Checked parks and alleyways for suspicious activity, disturbances, or safety concerns. All areas checked were found to be in normal condition with no suspicious activity or disturbances encountered.
Property Observation: During patrol, observed that the garage associated with 1714 was open. Noted the condition for awareness and continued routine patrol operations throughout the surrounding area.
