PATROL REPORT – August 9, 2026

August 9, 2026 – (Balboa Peninsula Point Patrol Assignment)

3:16 AM Dievie Terry – 0000 continue routing security patrols throughout the community and Beach areas. maintain the visible security presence along the streets, alleyways, parks, and beach access points. foot traffic was moderate due to people going to the jetty.

0100 continued patrols of the community, giving additional attention to Alleyways parks and areas around the racquet hall. beach in Shoreline areas were also checked for compliance with the closure. no significant incidents were observed.

0200 conducted continued patrols throughout the community and Beach areas. check beach access points and Shoreline areas for after hours activity. noticed moderate violators due to the closure of beaches. Met with some non compliance but maintained de-escalation and was able to get patron off beach without incident maintain security presence throughout the area and observe no significant unauthorized activity

0330 conducted the final patrol of the shift throughout the beach, shoreline, and surrounding community. during the final patrol, made contact with patrons who were reluctant to leave the beach due to established closure. group was of 5 individuals and were visibly drunk. provided friendly but firm reminders regarding the closure and requested that all remaining patrons clear the area. patrons were eventually compliant and left the beach without further issue. completed a final check of the surrounding area including all parks and the surrounding neighborhoods. also paid attention to Alleyways in the community as well and observed nothing further out of the ordinary before concluding the patrol. properly secured the vehicle.

8:16 PM Carlos Mejia – 1900 – Began shift and conducted an initial security patrol throughout the assigned property. Checked the tennis courts, surrounding areas, and adjacent facilities for any suspicious activity, unauthorized persons, disturbances, or safety concerns.

Conducted routine patrols of all designated parks, beaches, alleyways, common areas, and beach access points while maintaining a highly visible security  presence.

Special   was given to the beach areas and beach guard/lifeguard

ensure the areas remained clear and secure. Checked multiple access

points and surrounding areas for any unusual activity or violations. Parks

common areas were inspected and found to be in normal condition. 1930–2000 – Continued monitoring pedestrian and vehicle activity throughout the property while conducting proactive security checks. Alleyways were checked for suspicious persons, vehicles, or other unusual activity and were found clear. Tennis courts and surrounding areas remained clear with no suspicious activity encountered. Maintained professional communication and a visible security presence throughout the patrol area. All areas checked during this time period were found to be safe and orderly, with no significant incidents or suspicious activity encountered.

Throughout the community with emphasis on maintaining a highly visible security presence and ensuring all assigned areas remained safe and orderly. Checked multiple alleyways, beaches, parks, L Park, and Bay Beach for suspicious activity, unauthorized persons, disturbances, safety concerns, or other unusual conditions. Conducted thorough visual inspections of common areas, walkways, beach access points, surrounding facilities, and areas with increased pedestrian activity. Continued monitoring pedestrian and vehicle activity throughout the

patrol area while maintaining professional awareness of surrounding

conditions. Made contact with and greeted several residents during patrol operations. Residents were cooperative and several expressed their appreciation for the continued security presence and efforts being made to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming community. Continued to maintain order in the beach and park areas while providing a professional and visible security presence. No disturbances, suspicious activity, vandalism, or safety hazards were observed during this patrol period. All areas checked were found to be clear, secure, and in normal condition.

9:03 PM Carlos Mejia – 2030- While conducting routine patrol in the area,

detected a strong odor consistent with marijuana near the residence/house area. No specific individual was identified as the source of the odor. However smell was near 1915 area . Continued patrol operations and monitoring of the surrounding area while maintaining a visible security presence. No suspicious activity or disturbance was observed at the time. Documented for informational purposes.

2100 – Continued proactive patrol operations throughout the community, checking alleyways, parks, beaches, access points, and surrounding common areas. Maintained order and a visible security presence while monitoring pedestrian and vehicle traffic. All areas checked remained clear and orderly, with no suspicious activity encountered.

9:50 PM Carlos Mejia – 2100–2145 – Conducted proactive security patrols

of the beaches, parks, and alleyways while maintaining a professional and

highly visible security presence throughout the assigned area. Conducted

security checks around West Jetty View Park, including the beach area and

Lifeguard Stand P, while monitoring surrounding areas for unauthorized

activity, disturbances, or safety concerns.

At approximately 2120, made contact with three teenagers who were

observed smoking at the lifeguard stand P , at West Jetty View Park. The

individuals were advised that they needed to leave the beach area, and

they subsequently left the area without further incident. Continued monitoring the beach and surrounding park areas to maintain order and deter additional after-hours activity.

Across from the park/beach, a party was observed taking place. The area was monitored for any potential loud disturbances, excessive noise, or other activity that could affect the surrounding community. No significant disturbance was observed at the time of patrol. Multiple residents were also contacted and notified regarding after-hours beach activity. Continued patrols of nearby alleyways, beach access points, and surrounding areas. Overall, no additional suspicious activity or significant disturbances were encountered. All checked areas remained orderly, and a visible security presence was maintained throughout the patrol area.

9:50 PM Carlos Mejia – 2145 – While continuing routine patrol operations along the beach near the residential area, observed a blue tent located on the beach near the 1700 block. Contact was made with two individuals inside the tent who were engaged in inappropriate activity. The individuals were advised to discontinue the activity and leave the beach area due to the upcoming beach closure and activity. They were given a few minutes to gather their belongings and vacate the area. Continued monitoring the location and surrounding beach area to ensure compliance and maintain order.

11:23 PM Carlos Mejia – 2200–2245 – Began conducting more frequent patrols of the beach areas due to the scheduled 2200 beach closure. Increased security presence along the shoreline, beach access points, and areas surrounding the lifeguard stands to ensure the beach was cleared of individuals after closing hours and to maintain order.

Made contact with multiple individuals who remained on the beach after closing and advised them that the beach was closed. Most individuals complied with instructions and left the beach area without any issues or.further concerns. Continued checking all designated lifeguard stands, nearby parks, alleyways, access points, and surrounding areas for unauthorized activity, suspicious persons, or disturbances. Maintained a professional and visible security presence throughout the beach and surrounding community while monitoring pedestrian and vehicle activity. Continued proactive patrols to deter after-hours access and maintain a safe and orderly environment. No significant disturbances

or suspicious activity were encountered during this patrol period. All areas checked were found to be clear and in normal condition.

11:23 PM Carlos Mejia – 2245–2330 – Continued proactive security patrols

throughout the assigned community with emphasis on maintaining a visible and professional security presence. Conducted thorough checks of the beaches, parks, alleyways, beach access points, common areas, and surrounding residential areas. Continued monitoring the beach areas following the 2200 closure and checked for any individuals remaining after hours or attempting to access restricted areas.

Monitored pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout the patrol area and remained alert for suspicious behavior, disturbances, unauthorized activity, or potential safety concerns. Conducted repeated visual inspections of the shoreline, park areas, access points, and alleyways to ensure conditions remained safe and orderly.

Made contact with and greeted several residents during patrol operations.

Maintained professional and courteous communication with residents while continuing to monitor the surrounding area and provide reassurance through a consistent security presence. Continued to maintain order throughout the community and deter unauthorized activity through frequent patrols and visibility.

All areas checked remained clear and in good order. No significant disturbances, suspicious activity, vandalism, or safety hazards were encountered during this patrol period. Security operations continued without incident.
