PATROL REPORT – July 4, 2025

Balboa Peninsula Point

7pm to 3am S/O David Sierras

7pm – On Duty, Patrolling streets and parks… Observing several more vehicles and pedestrians than usual. Some vehicles are partially blocking the streets on Oceanfront and Bay Ave.

8pm – Patrolling streets and parks…… Checking on homes under construction, observing vehicle and pedestrian movement.

9pm – Patrolling streets and parks…… observing vehicle and pedestrian movement. Fireworks are visible from the beach.

10pm – The pier and the beach are now closed…..I removed people fishing from the pier and I removed people from the lifeguard towers.

..

11pm – West Jetty View Park is now closed, clearing all visitors from the park.

***Traffic exiting BPP is backed up to L Street & Balboa and at G Street & Ocean.

12am – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks…. Checking on homes under construction. .

***Traffic remains backed up. Low visibility from the fireworks smoke.

1am – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks…… I am deterring vehicles from parking near jetty park and from entering the beach.

**1:40am – Traffic remains backed up. 2 vehicles were having road rage, a white car chased a orange car to the Wedge and I stopped the driver from the white car from escalating into a physical altercation.

2am – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks…..Checking on homes under construction and observing vehicles entering BPP.

***2:58am – As I was removing a small group of people from the G Street lifeguard tower I noticed one person seemed to be intoxicated, a young male Hispanic wearing a dark baseball cap, grey T-shirt & grey shorts. As I followed him to his vehicle to get his license plate information he backed up towards me to prevent me from getting his license plate information, when I moved out of the way he hit a parked car, grey Lexus CT200h, parked in front of 107 G Street, the driver’s side view mirror was broken,  the driver continued driving in reverse and turned around on Balboa Blvd and drove away, I called 911 for a hit & run….. Office Griese arrived and started the report and left a card on the victims vehicle.

3am – Off Duty.
