15 Years of Peninsula Point Contributions

In late 2007, the U.S. Government approved a request to establish a charitable foundation under the title “Community Foundation of Balboa,” and our foundation was born. The work of the foundation continues with the current dedicated, all volunteer team. Following is a summary of the projects and programs that you have suggested and funded over the last 15 years.

2007-2008
Funded instrumental speed/traffic studies on E. Balboa Blvd. and E. Ocean Blvd.

2010
Cost shared with City of Newport Beach for installation of Guadalupe Palms on Balboa Main Street.

2012
Funded landscaping of I Street Island after City of Newport Beach constructed the island.

Contracted and built Tot Lot at Miramar Dr. and E. Balboa Blvd. Transferred ownership to City of Newport Beach. Thanks to Gary Jabara for the enabling donation.

Kathy Malcomb accepts two-way radios for the CERT block captains.

Foundation funds Lights on the Balboa Peninsula Point sign at G Street.

2021
Balboa Realty Company allows the Foundation to put license plate readers on their building.

2008-Present
Funding of summer, holiday season, and recently, year-round weekend security patrol.

We are thankful for your continued support and pledge that we will continue to provide responsible leadership and rigorous management of the funding that you provide. Our community is better because of you and your support of the foundation programs. 

We trust that you will continue to give us the support that we need to provide the public safety, the beautification, public or art, and quality-of life-programs that make Balboa Peninsula Point such a great place to live.
